This goal was followed by a Paul Stanley effort assisted by Rick Hope and Jim Beatty. In the second frame B. Callery put three more goals on the board. Finding the net was Rick Campbell from Steve Connors and Greg Ellis, Rick Hope assisted by Jim Beatty, and Brian Williamson with an unassisted offensive delivery. In the final frame the team of B. Callery & Associates con- tinued to show no mercy and added another three goals to the scoresheet. Mike McQuade sniped a pair, Steve Churchill, Rick Hope, Phil Lalonde and Colin Asselstine with single helpers. The shutout went to Ken Harman as he had an easy day guarding the twine tent but came up when tested to pick up the shutout in this blowout game. Taylor Fuels 3 Compton Communications 1 In this defensive battle, Taylor Fuels edged out Compton Communications by a 3-1'score. Brian Samis led the way for Taylor Fuels in this contest with two key goals. His first was nicely tucked behind the pads of the Compton net- minder assisted by Brian Till, while his second was of the unassisted variety as he faked forehand and put a nice back- hand upstairs. Also finding the net for Taylor Fuels was Brian Till with the help of Ken Little and Brian Samis to close out the scoring in this contest. Harrison Fuels 4 Monsma Electric 3 This game was closer towards the end of the game but in the end it was Harrison Fuels emerging victorious over Monsma Electric by a score of 4-3. Harrison Fuels jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with two goals from Jeff Kroonenburg as well as one goal courtesy of Karl Durham. Picking up assists on these goals included Richie LeFort with two as well as Darcy Milligan adding two helpers. Myles O'Riordan added one assist as well during this offen- sive attack. Monsma Electric got on the board in the second period when John Mackey put in his first of three in this contest from Steve Groves and Ed Olsen. Harrison responded quickly when Darcy Milligan found the back of the net for the game winning goal assisted by Mike Kane. Two late goals from John Mackey made things interesting and setting up his markers was Ron Zaparanuik assisting on both, while Rick Penstone set up the final goal of the game for Monsma Electric. Game two saw the Nutty Chocolatiers meet the Steel City (Hamilton) and win by a 4-0 score, Scoring first for Port Perry was Jordon Froats with assists to Trevor Lance and Spencer Churchill, Another great season of competitions, social gatherings has been completed Time to put the lawn bowls away until next spring and lock up the clubhouse for another year. We have completed a great season of competi- tion and social times which make our club a nice place to spend a few hours during the summer. Our tournaments attract-- ed bowlers from many of the neighbouring clubs so our thanks to our club members that arranged and conducted these affairs and our gratitude to the generous sponsors of these tournaments for their contributions to our club. We were all saddened by the sudden passing of Walter Griffin, and, of course, our sympathy and condolences to Pearl and the family. Walter was an active and involved mem- ber of our club and he will be missed. Next year as part of the celebration of the new cen- tury, our club has been selected to host one of the activities. This will be rather special for us so we are looking forward to that event. In closing, the efforts of so many members in looking after the lawns and greens, the many chores that were handled so well by the volunteers was deeply appreciated. We are looking forward to the new year and seeing all the familiar faces again.
