Scugog's museum receives $8,000 grant from province By Chris Hall Port Perry Star Scugog Shores Historical Museum is among three local muse- ums to be awarded grants by the provincial government. The local museum, along with Bowmanville Museum and the Clarke Museum and Archives, Is among the 167 muse- ums across the province to benefit from operating grants given out by the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation. Scugog Shores Museum is slated to receive a total of $8,001. The Tory government has earmarked almost $2.7 million in its bud- get to fund the grants. "It is not an enormous amount, but it will help with the operation of the Scugog museum and others like it," said Durham MPP John O'Toole last Friday morning. "Along with the sup- port they receive from the municipalities, they should be in good shape," said Mr. O'Toole.
