Chamber's AGM is set for Jan. 25 at Scugog Centre The annual general meeting and dinner for the Scugog Chamber of Commerce has been set for Tuesday, Jan 25, commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the Scugog Community Centre in Port Perry. The meeting is conducted to perform the annual business of the chamber, including the review of financial results for the prior year. An important element of the evening is the nomina- tion and selection of the board of direc- tors for the coming term. "We have an excellent core of com- mitted, hard working directors, all of whom have consented to continue for another term," said Les Gower, presi- dent. "We are also welcoming new members to the board to assist with the creation, planning and implementation of new events as well as the traditional chamber events for the year 2000." Persons interested in becoming a director or nominating someone should contact the nominating committee at 985-4971. The evening is not all business. It is also an excellent opportunity for social- izing. All existing members, spouses, friends, associates and prospective members are welcome to attend the annual meeting and dinner. A buffet dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. and a guest speaker, whose name will be announced in January, will round out the evening. Tickets are $25 each and can be obtained at the chamber office, 269 Queen St. (telephone - 985-4971), Jayson Callan Music or from any chamber director.
