Durham Regional Police report that the remains, found by a hunter on the evening of Dec. 3, have been passed along to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto. There, they will be examined by Dr. Jerry Melbye, a foren- sic anthropologist with the University of Toronto, and Dr. Dean Knight, an archaeologist and anthropologist from Sir Wilfred Laurie University near Waterloo. Police were notified of the find some- time during the afternoon of Dec. 4, the day after a hunter stumbled upon the skeletal remains while walking in a field in the area of Harmony Rd. North and Coates Rd. East in north Oshawa. The area was sealed off and the Durham Forensic Identification Unit was called in.
