St. John's Anglican News By Colin Beal On Dec. 12, during the Sunday Eucharist, the children of St. John's Church School presented the 1999 version of the annual Christmas Pageant. We. had been told to expect "something a little different" this year and we were not disap- pointed. The title of the pageant was "What's it all about? - The symbols of Christmas." It opened with two children deco- rating a Christmas tree with bells, candy canes, etc. While the children, Rachel Beechey and Benjamin Cole, placed the decorations on the tree, Natasha Edgerton explained the connection of each one with the tra- ditions of Christmas. Mary was played by Melissa Hudson and there were lots of angels and shepherds. As a finale, the Three Kings (Jessie Bongard, Stephen Kubovic and Michael Kubovic) arrived with their gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. The story of the nativity was narrated by Rachel Kubovic. There was lots of singing of well loved Christmas hymns and carols in which a large congregation joined enthusiastically. The children, under the guidance of Heather Kubovic, Catherine Corden and Nancy Bongard, had obviously worked hard to bring us this delightful and very meaningful production. We congratulate children and teachers and thank them all for getting Christmas 1999 off to such a good start. Following the service, a scrumptious pot luck lunch was served in the Parish Hall; as has become a tradition, the desserts were provided by the church school teachers whose offerings, as has also become a tra- Personal Wealth Management™ I" Robert J.
