Scugog Island ] Friends will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m. Our Communion and Christmas Service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19 at 9:45 a.m. Special music will be provided by the Orchestra. A Christmas Eve Service will be held on | David and Jessica Foster participated in the light- | ing of the Advent Wreath. The Sunday School and youth prepared and participated in the service in a pageant. It was a great opportunity to praise God in thanksgiving for Baby . Jesus. A time of fellowship was enjoyed following the service. Special thanks to those who prepared and directed this special service. Thanks to Jenkins Business Equipment of Oshawa for lending us an overhead projector when we had dif- ficulty finding a replacement bulb. Your kindness helped our pageant go off without a hitch. A few members of the congregation and youth visited folks who find it diffi- cult to get out to our service. It was a great Sunday of fellowship. Friday, Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Scugog Island United Church. Everyone is welcome. A joint service will be held at Manchester U.C. on Sunday, Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. No service at Scugog Island. Written annual reports are due Jan. 2 and financial statements are due Jan. 16. Please submit them directly to Karen Davis. Uxbridge choirs help Burns Church celebrate Christmas, 150 years Sunday of Advent, Ron Ashton lit the Candle of Hope. Rev. lan Morrison's sermon was titled "Jubilee." The choir sang a lovely Christmas selec- tion "Sleep in Heavenly Peace." Remembering for- mer ministers, Rev. Herbert Buntain, Rev. Wm. Black and Rev. Stuart McEntyre was pre- sented by Doug and Florence Ashton. The Sunday evening choir concert was an inspi- ration to all who attended. Congratulations to Jeff and Kerrie- Ann Taylor on the safe arrival of a baby girl, born Dec. 8. A great-grand- daughter for Muriel Gibson. Muriel Gibson and Neil and Jean Hunter had supper on Saturday evening with Mary Drewery. Doris and Harry Hill had dinner Friday evening with Elsie Pogue in Port Perry. Practice for the Greenbank Youth Choir will be Dec. 15 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the church. This will be the final practice until Jan. 12.
