GM reports sales of $39 billion for 1999 General Motors of Canada Limited report- ed record revenues from all operations of $39.7 billion (Cdn.) in 1999. Total unit sales for GM of Canada (com- bined production in Canada and vehicles imported for sale in Canada) were a record 1.32 million units, up from the previous record of 1.3 million units in 1997. GM of Canada pro- duced a total of 915,390 vehicles in 1999. GM truck sales in Canada were the highest ever at 217,248 units while car sales of 259,675 units represent GM's best calendar year sales since 1992. Truck sales were led by the award winning Oshawa-built Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups. Car sales were led by Canada's most popular small cars - the Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire.
