"Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, February 22, 2000 - 17 Auto parts excellence Port Perry UAP store honoured for outstanding sales, service By Chris Hall Port Perry Star Port Perry's UAP Autoparts store received one of the franchise's top awards recently, a feat that wouldn't have been accomplished without all the store's loyal customers, says owner Carlo Arcari. The local auto parts store, which is located at 179 Casimir St. in Port Perry, was presented with the UAP Autoparts Ontario Region Vice-President's Silver Award for 1999.on Feb. 10. It was selected as one of the top four corporate stores in Ontario from more than 150 others. "The award is basically for maintaining our growth over the years with our profit and sales," said Mr. Arcari. "l guess we stood out more than others and we met our budgeted profit margin. "The award is supposed to recognize a store for its outstanding work and that of its employees, but it's really the customers we have to thank. They probably don't realize that they won this award for us. For that, I'd like to say thank you to them." The local store was run as a private business until three years ago, when Mr. Arcari and his wife Connie opted to turn it into a corporate franchise. This is the second year UAP has handed out the Silver VP's award, and is the first time the Port Perry store has been pre- sented with the honour. "This is a great award for us, as a busi- ness, but it is our customers we have to thank." Port Perry UAP Autoparts owner Carlo Arcari wishes to thank all his customers who helped him receive an award of excellence.
