And this year, to. honour the Borelians 30th anniver- , sary it seemed only fit- ting to have another rerun. "It seemed to be an appropriate production to celebrate the begin- ning of our roots", direc- tor Dave Ellis said. Although the three-act comedy opened last Thursday night the fol- lowing evening was the gala event. After another splendid performance Friday evening a grand reunion was enjoyed by the cast and audience, many of who were the alumni of the former pro- ductions in 1980 and 1970. Speaking to Liz Fulford, who starred as Penelope Sycamore in the 1970 version, she said she always had a wonder- ful time with the Borelians. "Acting was such a fun thing to do", she said. For Phil Eva the evening was a merry one, too. At the performance on Friday night he recalled many of the lines as he had played the part of Paul Sycamore in the 1980 version. That was also the first and only time Mr. Eva performed for the Borelians. Veteran actors on stage for this production are Susan Ellis, Ed Daigle, Bunty . Webb, Linda Sutherland, Joanne Norman and Jarret Hunter. Newcomers for the first time on stage include OAC students Richard Hart, Ryan Poirier, Kelly Hoare and Elizabeth Savage. For more than six decades "You Can't Take HEATHER McCRAE / PORT PERRY STAR It With You" has remained an audience fayorite. Written by Moss Hart and George Kaufman, the humour, characters and themes have endured because they are simple, truthful and understand- able. Whoever thinks money always brings happiness will have a change of heart after seeing the play. So now, audience, it's time to sit back and remember what Grandpa has been telling us all these years. "Life is kind of beautiful if you let it come to you..remember you can't take it with you." "You Can't Take It With You" continues at Town Hall 1873 on March 2, 3° and 4. Tickets can be reserved by calling Henshall's at 985-1965. The fun begins at 8 p.m. To commemorate the Borelians 30th anniversary the community theatre group presented the three-act comedy "You Can't Take It With You". This is the third time the Borelians have brought the play to the stage. The first performance, which was the theatre group's inaugural production, was held in 1970. And on their 10th anniversary in 1980 "You Can't Take It With You" was presented again. In photo (L- R) are Liz Fulford who played the part of Penelope Sycamore in 1970, Phil Eva who portrayed Paul Sycamore in the 1980 version and Susan Ellis who stars as Penelope Sycamore in this year's performance. The comedy continues March 2, 3 and 4. Tickets can be purchased at Henshall's.
