WAGG FUNERAL HOME McDemott-Panabaker Chapel or Fax: BEDVILLE, Gwenyth Pearl - Died peacefully at her home on Chalk Lake near Port Perry, Ontario, on Tuesday, April 11, 2000. Born in Ashfield, New South Wales, Aus- tralia, she was prede- ceased by her parents Herbert and Dorothy Bedville and brother Dr. Bryant Bedville. Gwen is survived by her beloved sisters Joyce Fox and Dorothy Watson, brother- in-law Ronald Watson, and seven nieces and nephews. Gwen left Aus- tralia in her mid 20s to dis- cover the world, living in London, England, for a year and working in New York City with the Aus- tralian Consulate for three years finally settling in Toronto. When she joined the Federal Department of Manpower and Immigara- tion in the mid 60s she was able to exercise her talent for helping people who needed help. She loved her work. Her dedi cation culminated in her appointment as Co-ordi- nator of Youth Programs for Ontario, located in the Ontario Regional Office, Toronto. Gwen was a driv- ing force on the Board of Directors of several volun- teer organizations, includ- ing Youth Employment Service (YES), Bridging the Gap and the Human- Animal Bond Association of Canada (HABAC). Her death leaves an empti- ness that shall never be filled in the heart and life of Elizabeth Dunn who benefitted from Gwen's enduring friendship and support over so many decades. We take comfort in these words Gwen shared not so long ago: "Do not be saddened for my sake for | shall spend my tryst with you. Each morning when the dawn doth break, | shall remem- ber you." Rather than remembering Gwen with flowers, we know she would prefer a donation be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division.
