Police report that a fake $50 bill turned up at the OLCO gas bar on Scugog St. in Port Perry. During the same time period last week, coun- terfeit bills were discov- ered at two other gas sta- tions in Uxbridge Township. Durham Police are urg- ing retailers to use a scan- ner to detect fake bills or carefully scrutinize cur- rency before accepting it. STAR . Durham Regional Police news Thieves grab tires, rims from Jeep A Manchester man returned home last week to find thieves had stolen the rims and new tires off his 1988 Jeep Cherokee. Police report that some- time between 9 p.m. on July 19 and 7 a.m. on July 20 thieves stole the rims and tires. The vehicle was found lying on a set of old tires.
