Staff-Sergeant Dietmar Shoenrock of North Durham's 26 Division said yesterday that the Nov. 10 fire, just east of the Port Perry causeway at the home of Marilyn and Norm Tripp, is being treated as suspicious. The Tripps own and operate Causeway Live Bait at 2080 Hwy. 7A. Police were called to the home around 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 10 after smoke was seen issuing from an attached garage. Firefighters with the Scugog Fire Department were called to extinguish the small blaze. As a result of their investiga- tion, police have discovered that approximately $1,500 in property is missing from the garage.
