"We've received a very positive response from the business community for our efforts in the past year, with many businesses now displaying the Breastfeeding Friendly decal," said Christina Corsi-Groulx, a public health nurse with Durham Region Health Department. "Through Band plans concert The North Durham Millennium Band is holding its third annual Christmas concert being held at the Udora Community - Centre, on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. Under the artistic direction of Steffan Brunette, Music Director of Brock High School, the NDMB promises to provide concert goers with a sampling of Christmas classics to please young and old. Tickets are avail- able at the door prior to performance. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors and teens and children 12 and under are free. Refreshments will be available during the intermission. There will be a draw for door prizes. All ages are invited to attend the concert and everyone is encouraged to come out and support their community band. These meetings will offer support to both mothers and business owners who want to get involved and provide an opportunity for sharing ideas. Literacy Network hosts workshops The Literacy Network of Durham Region will be hosting orientation and training workshops for classroom and one-to- one tutors from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the following dates. Mandatory Orientation ($10 for copy- ing fee) - Monday, Jan. 15, Thursday, Jan. 18, Monday, Jan. 22. Q One-to-One Tutor Training ($35 for training manual) - Thursday, Jan. 25, Monday, Jan. 29, Thursday, Feb. | The orientation ses- sion is required in order to volunteer in all class- room settings.
