McClelland Port Perry Star The Port Perry MoJacks made it two consecutive home ice wins Sunday night as they clipped the Little Britain Merchants by a 6-4 margin. That's the same score the MoJacks used one week ago in downing the Georgina Ice and the back-to- back wins are the first for the green and white this season. ) The win over the Merchants marked a positive debut for newly appointed assistant coach Neil Evans, who joined the club earlier in the week and will work with head coach Murray Parliament and long time assistant Scott Pinkerton to try and salvage this hockey season by getting the team in the play- offs. The 44-year old Evans comes to the MoJacks after working several seasons as an assistant with the Uxbridge Bruins. "We are very pleased to have Neil join our club," said Mr. Parliament. "He has a great knowledge of the game at this (Junior C) level and relates well to hock- ey players of this age." Mr. Parliament, the MoJack's general manager, has assumed the head coaching duties after Tom Thornbury was released earlier this month. He is expected to continue in this role as head coach through the end of this season. "We had another excellent team effort (against the Merchants) even though we were a little sluggish in the first period as we had not been on the ice since practice the previous Tuesday," said head coach Parliament after the 6-4 victory.
