Mr. Bennett added that the committee shouldn't automatically "rubber-stamp" ads. | "We can't just stamp them and say yes to everything, We can't let the papers and publishers put pressure on us... it's our money, we have a say where it goes." Later during the meeting, the commit- tee heard a presentation from Carey Nicholson, an organizer with the 2001 Lake Scugog Spring Studio Tour. Scheduled for the weekend of May 5 and 6, the event is a self-guided tour of more than 20 local studios. Mrs. Nicholson asked if the township would consider purchasing an ad in pro- motional material. Mr. Bennett suggested that the township and BIA split the cost of a $400 ad, which was later okayed.
