Arthur Miller's 1947 drama, "All My Sons," takes place in post war era American. It is a time when loyalty, trust and values were the backbone of the American society. Amidst the complexities of family, duty and honour, "All My Sons" chronicles the lives of two families and their struggle to come to terms with the loss of a son to war and the extraordinary actions of an ordinary man. The patriarch of the Keller family is Joe (Dave Robinson). During the war, Joe and his partner Steve Deever manufactured aircraft engine parts for the Air Force. The two were accused of manufacturing faulty engine parts resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots, an action that Joe's partner has been imprisoned for. Joe's oldest son Larry, a pilot serving in the Pacific, was reported missing in action on Nov. 25, 1943. Left behind to cope with the loss of a son is Kate Keller (Ruth Smith). She is a woman who desperately struggles to keep the memory of her lost son alive amidst the ever strengthen- ing relationship between her other son Chris Keller (Dave McKay) and Ann Deever (Robin McKay) Larry's fiance and Steve Deever's daughter. Chris Keller invites Ann to the house to propose to her and must help Kate realize and accept Larry's death. The surprise appearance of George (Harry Nobel), Ann's broth- er who has just come from visiting his imprisoned father, brings to the backyard gathering a moment of intense rev- elation. Set in the backyard of the Keller home on a warm August day, three years after Larry's disappearance, the story of "All My Sons" unfolds throughout a single day, a day that brings with it the friendship of neighbours, two people very much in love and the turmoil and guilt of a hidden past.
