Thieves hit homes In town during day Durham Regional police are investigating two break-ins last week that may be connected. Last Thursday a resi- dent in a Carnegie St. home was in the shower - when he heard suspi- cious sounds on the main floor of the home. According to police reports, the man dressed quickly and rushed upstairs in time to see a suspect exit the house and escape in a light blue colored small- size car. A quantity of jewelry was missing from the home, and a door had been forced open, police said. Around the same time, entry was made to an Ottawa St., house and the home was ran- sacked. The only item taken was a watch bearing the Blue Jays logo. Anyone with informa- tion on these break-ins is asked to contact Durham Regional Police at 579-1520, ext. 2671 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS.
