They were among dozens of kids who were recognized when the Blackstock Minor Hockey league wrapped up its season with a banquet at the local arena Saturday. There was also recognition for the league's many volunteers and sponsors. Soccer association gearing up for the summer Soccer season is nearly upon us, tryouts for select teams are nearing completion, and the grass is greening up and ready for play. There are lots of new developments and opportunities, that we would like to make the membership aware of: Late Registration Many of the age groups are now full, but we do have some openings still. If you know someone who wants to register, they should pick up a form at The Port Perry Star, or the Chamber of Commerce, and mail it in with their cheque > "Fields Work dates for spring repairs to fields are April 28 and May 5, starting at 10 a.m. for two to three hours. "Shovels and wheelbarrows are needed too! If you are not volunteering in any other way this year, this is your chance to help in a small but vital way. Attendance at one of the two nights is mandatory for all coaches (we run the same program on two nights tosensure maximum availability for our coaches). - Tournaments The club will be hosting its two regular house-league tour- naments, as well as two new regional tournaments. For the June 23 house league tournament, we have a planning session on Wednesday, April 25th at 7 p.m., at the Chamber of Commerce.
