Horticulture club members to meet tonight in Brooklin By Florence Ashton Ashburn News Next Sunday the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at morning worship at Burns Church. Time of service is 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Results of the euchre game last Thursday are as follows: six and a half tables were played. Ladies high - Evelyn Dennis, second - Key Brown. mens' high - Art Richardson, second - Nelson Cole, lone hands - Violet Cole and Les Meyers, door prize and share the wealth - Daris Slute and Les Meyers. Helen Hedges and Edna Meyers. The winners of asparagus donated by Mac and Helen Hedges were - Kay Brown, Frank Parrinder and Violet Cole. Next euchre will be Thursday, May 31. Last week many of us travelled by bus to Stratford seeing the perfor- mance "The Sound of Music." This trip was sponsored by the Kirk Guild and hosted by Barb Porter. Big news.in downtown Ashburn this past week was the moving of the white frame house, just south of the store which was moved back on the property owned by Donald Fleming, formerly owned by the late Marie West. It will be interesting to watch the develop- ments over the next few weeks. On Wednesday, May 23, Brooklin Horticulture members will meet at the United Church, Brooklin at 8 p.m. This will be the spring flower show, with a total of 38 classes. This is always a delightful show with the lovely spring flowers and early vegetables. Speaker Patricia Thomson will speak on "Insects and Disease." Should be an interesting subject as we all are plagued with insects and diseases attacking our plants from time to time.
