Nicole captured gold in the giving her the provincial title. The annual fundraiser begins at 7 a.m. I guess the biggest news this week is the 33rd Nonquon Canoe Race. Registration is at the Latcham Centre this Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The race begins between 7 and 9:30 a.m. this Saturday, June 2. There are categories for different ages. Ralph Giannini has produced some wonderful bronze medals for each partic- ipant. | trust we'll see old and young alike in this race, as in the past. Out-of-towners are welcome, too. Don't worry about the weather - the moon changes on May 29, so it will be a wonderful day. At present there are over 50 prizes to be won: Following the viewing of the results on the wall screen, we'll venture outside for the awards presentation and a piece of "Nonquon Cake." The Friends of Putsey Park This is a new organization that will take over the running of Scugog Township's Putsey Park in Caesarea. The. new slate of officers will include: Ruth Wardlaw - pres- ident, Donna Wort - vice-president, Fran Binns - secretary, Ellen Cross - treasurer and Jim Hatkoski - sports director. Future | plans and developments will be dis- cussed shortly with the different township boards. Watch this column for the next meeting. Come one - come all to this once a year yard sale at 20 Putsey Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. lam very sorry to report that Tom Dean is in St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto as a result ofan auto accident late Friday afternoon. The last report | have is that he is in stable condition. For many years Tom has been our well liked neighbourhood plumber with a sense of humour. We all wish you a speedy recov- ery, Tom.
