Scugog Chamber of Commerce president JoAnne Cerovich appeared before Scugog's parks and recreation committee last Monday (May 28), where she outlined plans for the upcoming July | festivities. There will be no major changes te the celebra- tions in 2001, said Ms Cerovich, noting that all events will take place in Palmer Park. Kicking off the festivi- ties will be live enter- tainment at the Rotary™ gazebo at 6 p.m. The Port Perry Star's Citizen of the Year cere- mony will then be held Scugog Township can expect the cash to keep on flowing from the Great Blue Heron Casino for the foreseeable future, Mayor Doug Moffatt told council last week. The mayor told mem- bers of the finance and administration commit- tee last Monday (May 28) he had received a memo from the Ontario Casino Corp., which reported that revenues at all of the province's charity casinos are on the rise. "We can continue with the (revenue) stream planned," he said. Scugog Township receives a percentage of the revenues from the Great Blue: Heron Charitable Casino, which is located on Scugog Island.
