"Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" PORT PERRY STAR | Tuesday, July 10, 2001 - 9 Man charged with attempted murder By Rik Davie Port Perry Star A Port Perry man is fac- ing charges of attempted murder after a woman described as his former girlfriend was pushed from a fourth-floor balcony at her Toronto apartment. The man has been charged by Toronto Police in connection with the inci- dent. The uniduntified woman was pushed from the balcony sometime Thursday, police said. According to reports, the woman is recovering in hospital after surgery to treat injuries she sus- tained. Police say she hit scaffolding before landing WHATS IN A NAME? The woman was taken to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where she underwent surgery for injuries to her arm and her skull. Sketchy reports say that the couple had not been dating for some time, and may have argued. Alan Donaldson, 31, of - Port Perry has been denied bail on charges of attempted murder, unlaw- fully causing bodily harm and aggravated assault.
