Cruse Newlove and Brandon Watson each had a triple and Matt Larkin had two. Scoring RBIs with their doubles were Ben Rutledge, Ashley Postill, Chase 'Newlove, and Cody Steranka. Intermediate Reid's Independent 18 Sunshine Pool 2 and Reid's Independent 25 Brians Towing 16 For Reid's, James Nieminen and Jeff Campkin both hit two homeruns. Erin Lang was 3-for-3 with two singles and one homerun. Lacey Stinson hit two doubles, Adam O'Brien went 3-for-3 with two dou- bles and one single. Jeff Campkin showed remarkable range snagging numerous ground balls and making key outs. Senior Asselstines 22 Young Field 6 Great batting by Don Ellis and Hayley Campbell had a nice triple with three RBIs. Don Frew 19 Young Field 8 Lise Cobitz caught a foul ball in the fourth, and quick thinking by Lacy Russel ~ to get to first base on a dropped ball Great batting by Hayley Campbell. Lishmans 29 Don Frew || Don Frew's Jonathan Swinard had a sin- gle, triple, and home run with three RBIs for the game. Home runs were also had by Cory Manns and Josh Ferguson. For Lishman's Brittany Simms had four sin- gles with four RBIs, Kory Bauer had two triples, a double, and a single with three RBIs and Jessica Foster had two singles with a total of four RBIs. Asselstine's 14 Young Field 7 Don Ellis had a homerun, a triple, and a double. Great team of pitchers Tyson Prescott and Hayley Campbell to keep the game close. Two singles by Darryl Goulding played well until we told him to wear his glasses! Peewee Hardball Cartwright Sluggers 16 Fire, Brass, and Patio (Courtice 3) | A strong combination of offense and defense gave Nestleton a 16 -1 victory over Courtice 3. Pitching by Brian Jensen, Ryan Eadie, and Steve Larmer. Michael Cicerella had an unassisted double play to end the fifth inning, Devon Berry made a strong throw from left field in the sixth for the throw out at first. RBIs go to Larmer (2), Jensen (2), Justyn Kennedy (2), and Katrina Wotten (2). Phillip Rudkin made a picture perfect steal at home plate to end the game in the sixth. The players were very impressive consid- ering they were only fielding eight on their first game. - Cartwright Sluggers 6 Cineplex Odeon 4 Great defensive plays including a tag out play by Steven Larmer at home plate in the second and Ryan Eadie's superb pitching in the third kept Cartwright in the game against the tough Bowmanville Cineplex team. After stranding runners in the second and third innings the Cartwright Sluggers exploded into a short but highly effective hitting frenzy. Add to this the aggressive bast running of Justyn Kennedy, Donald Shaw, Phillip Rudkin, and Michael Cicerella and the result was four runs scored. Cartwright Sluggers 19 Courtice I | Excellent base running skills prove to be Cartwright's strong point again in this game. The Sluggers successfully stole home eight times. Justyn Kennedy led the team with three singles and a triple in four at bats followed closely by Devon Berry with three singles. Mercedes Weber stuck it out getting hit by pitches in back to back bats.
