But, one step inside the CIBC and cus- tomers are put right at ease with the friendly, professional assistance of Customer Service Representative, Darlene Petch. : For seven years Darlene has been a loyal employee at the CIBC. A busy mom, who also devotes her time and energy to her children, she has found a good balance between her professional life and her family", says branch manag- er, Lee Fernandez. During her tenure with the CIBC, Darlene has been nominated for and has won two Achiever Awards given by the bank. Always one willing to help out, Mr. Fernandez says he can rely on Darlene to head up any new or special projects. "She's always there to help whenever needed," he says. "I'm a people person," Darlene says. "I love my job. There's no way they could hide me behind a desk." Her supervisor, Joanne Tufts, wasn't surprised when her employee was named the best teller in a recent survey. "lI wasn't surprised", she says. 'With Darlene's vivacious personality, it's quite evident she likes her job and she is very good at it." Another employee at the bank, Sylvia MacDonald, was selected, too, as the best financial planner. With 24 years of service, she definitely is a senior employee but is always quick to tell her customers she's the best looking woman in the branch; too. Everyone knows and loves her, Ms Tufts says. Sylvia goes out of her way to make people comfortable and has earned the trust of all of her clients. "Many have come to Sylvia by word-of- mouth from other happy clients and that says a lot, tbo," she says. Definitely a "people person", too, Sylvia has the special knowledge and skills to assist with financial solutions of any kind. A grandmother and "best friend" to several grandchildren, Sylvia keeps on trying to retire "but we won't let her." Both Darlene and Sylvia are grateful for the customers who took the time to cast ballots in their support.
