Fire, police and ambu- lance crews rushed to a home on Sunrise Dr. in Blackstock around 4 a.m. on Saturday morning after a male resident of the home awoke to the crackling of flames. Firefighters from Scugog Fire Department's Caesarea Hall, backed up by support units from Port Perry, spent several hours fighting the blaze that fire officials believe may have begun in the floor of the home. While no cause has been attributed to the fire that caused well over $100,000 damage to the home, wiring may have been a factor. Firefighters say that a fast reaction by the father of the family saved the day.
