We are going to have a guest speaker so we want everyone to be here on time. The topic is the Canada Day Autumn Festival, the afternoon events, the dinner, and the fireworks. The second major item is that the euchre games are starting up this Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Caesarea Hall. Come out and enjoy a social evening with your neighbours and friends. The third major item is the Scouts reg- istration this Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 10 at Blackstock United Church. Put your son or daughter on the right path for the future. Blackstock and District Lions Club Most 'of the Lions were on hand to serve 145 people of the Airstream Trailer Club last Saturday night at the Blackstock Rec. Centre. The club members were from all over North America and set up their trailers in the fairgrounds. I'm sure that under the direction of Don and Grace Proutt they have taken great memories of the Cartwright area away with them. Lions, remember that we're back at the Rec. Caesarea Church Update By Val Chapman Work is still going forward, but we still need volunteers to help finish drywalling, painting, woodworking, plumbing, etc. So, please consider lending a hand if you have any skills in any of these areas. We would greatly appreciate it. Our new roof looks just great thanks to Mike and com- pany. Our community church is looking better every day. We should be showing a quick rise on the "thermometer" sign soon, as our financial goal per the "chal- lenge" was reached on time. Our grateful thanks to all those who worked hard to make it happen. Friends, family and neighbours attended the open house to celebrate the 80th birthday of Chris Ruhl on Saturday which was held at their home. Chris would like to extend his appreciation to every- one who came and espe- cially to his children who prepared for this event. Doug., Judy and Travis MacSween recently enjoyed a two week vaca- tion travelling to PE.L where they visited with Doug's mother and other relatives, enjoyed some fishing as well as visiting points of interest.
