Two local motorcyclists injured Port Perry bikers hurt in collision near Peterborough Two Port Perry motor- cyclists are in hospital after they were injured in a collision north of Peterborough on the weekend. According to Ontario Provincial Police, a large group of motorcyclists were eastbound on County Rd. 24 in the Township of Ennismore/Lakefield on Saturday around 11:45 a.m. when a GMC van stopped at a stop sign on County Rd. 8 was struck from behind and pushed into the group of bikers. Several of the bikes were struck by the van and one man, 45-year-old Rick Coombes of Courtice, was pro- nounced dead at the scene. Also injured were Dan Blundell of Port Perry, Blair Plummer of Port Perry and the driver and passenger of the van. Mr. Plummer was air- lifted to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and the others were transported to area hospitals. The condition of the two Port Perry men was unknown at press time.
