The 26 Division officer became the subject of an investigation by the province's police watch- dog agency after a traffic accident occurred at a roadblock on Regional Rd. 23 near the intersection of Blue Mountain Rd. on Aug. 18 of this year. ~ The officer had been blocking and directing traf- fic after a serious accident Several motorcycles travelling at a high rate of speed came over a hill and one of the riders slammed into the marked cruiser with such force that it moved the full-size Chevrolet several feet. According to a release by the SIU, which has come under criticism for overstepping its mandate to investigate matters were civilians are killed or injured as a result of police actions, the officer did nothing wrong. The kids from the Grade 2 class won the contest to bring in the most food and the whole school wants to remind all of Scugog to give to the foodbank at the bins at local food stores.
