Durham Regional Police were called to Port Perry High School last Monday morning after the threat was phoned in. After an investigation, Durham Police arrested a 15-year-old PPHS student. . He was held for a bail hearing in an Oshawa court and now faces charges of criminal mischief, convey- ing a false message and breach of a probation order. The youth, who cannot be identified under the Young Offenders' Act, was released on numerous conditions and will return at an undetermined date to face the allegations. North Durham Staff- Sergeant Jim Douglass told The Star police will be aggressive in prosecuting hoax threats. "Given the heightened feelings of anxiety the public feels following the "events of Sept. 11 I can say that we will take any threat -- hoax or not -- very seri- ously and we will prose- cute those who make unfounded threats or per- petrate hoaxes on the public," he said. OPP arrest 44-year-old man Janetville man faces child porn charges Ontario Provincial Police officers arrested a Janetville man last week after a raid on a home resulted in the seizure of child pornography materi- als. Officers with the OPP's special pornography task force, "Project P", laid charges against a 44-year- old Thomas Frank Tatay last Wednesday. According to police reports, officers with the anti-porn task force descended on a home in Janetville on Oct. 17 after a 10-month investigation. With the assistance from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP detachment, officers executed a war- rant at 43 McGill Dr. ard seized three computers, floppy disks, and other articles. Computerized graphic images believed to be child pornography were also seized. Mr. Tatay has been charged with one count of possessing child pornog- raphy.
