This ongoing event is sponsored by the Blackstock Nursery School. At the United Church morn- ing service, the Sacrament of Infant Baptism was conducted by Rev. Karen Bursey when and Oshawa on the weekend were Clinton Smith and Trish Knowles. The choir sang by special request "How Great Thou Art." Following church Dan and Carol Steward held a family gathering in honour of Dishawn's baptism and cele- brating his recent adoption. Last week Joyce Kelly enjoyed attending the annual convention of the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions held in Winnipeg where the weather was absolutely summer like. The topic was "Joys and Challenges of Aging" and it was certainly proved that this group has lots of those. Everyone participated in the appropriate discussions and thoughts were expressed freely. Marion had prepared a number of short readings and sayings which everyone took turns reading and all were left with a very upbeat feeling. I'm not say- ing jam on your brakes and cause an accident behind you or turn your car over in a ditch. Last Saturday near Caesar's Cemetery a skunk had been hit and its backend was severely injured. The poor thing travels only at night and when we found it just before lunch it was still alive, but couldn't move. It had managed to drag itself 75 off the road. The children's story gave us all a reason to smile instead of frowning, Next Sunday, Nov. 25 at 10 am will be the welcoming service for Rev. Lacey.
