"Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" Scugog Township honours its volunteers A large appreciative crowd applauded for each of the 60 local resi- dents who were recog- nized for their efforts dur- ing the Township of Scugog's Fourth Tri- Annual Volunteer Recognition Night. The event was held at the Scugog Community Centre and featured some of the community's most giving and helpful residents. Members of Scugog Council were on hand to help present the recipi- ents with their awards, which were broken down into five categories. "This community is essentially made up of volunteers," said Scugog Mayor Doug Moffatt. "There are thousands of little things that they do to make our community so great." ward 2 Councillor Marilyn Pearce also applauded those in line for recognition. "We are very fortunate to have this number of volunteers being recog- nized," she said. Perhaps the loudest [a iL id an Stratton Nov. 22" - Dec. 8" Directed By: Mr. Art Elliot Produced By: Lamie Rosen round of applause on the night came for Marion Lee, who was honoured by the Easter Seals Society for her 43 years of volunteer work. In yet another special When Vivian Bliss, Author of Harlequin romance novels, sets out to spend a romantic weekend with respectably married schoolteacher Edgar Chisholm, she starts a chain of events which involves all the classic elements of farce- confused identities, disguise, long lost relatives, ambushes, chases and glorious mayhem. How Vivian gets her new novel finished in the face of, behind the back of, in spite of & with the help of an advice columnist, a nosy reporter, a doctor in panty- hose, an orphan with a cake and "Helga the evil Russian physicist, is the hilarious story of "Nurse Jane".
