Next euchre is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" Horticultural Society's annual Christmas show and meeting Nov. 28 The Christmas show and annu- al meeting of the Brooklin Horticultural Society will be held at Brooklin United Church on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. The evening begins as we enjoy yummy desserts and beverage. This is a fun, social evening with a Christmas theme - Winter Wonderland, with special enter- tainment provided. There are four classes of decorative designs in the Christmas show, a table design, a wreath, a wrapped gift box and a hanging treat for the birds. Hope to see you there as we enjoy this last get together for the year. Don't forget to bring your favourite con- fection for the dessert table Epsom has 125th float in parade UTICA & EPsom by Vera Brown It was a beautiful Saturday for the local Santa Claus Parades and our community was well repre- sented at the Port Perry event. Epsom Public School entered a float to commemorate its 125th anniversary and represen- tatives taking part formed at least four generations of people who are or had attended the school. Utica Community Day Care also entered a float as they do every year. Thanks to all who took part. Pine Grove Church is having their annual Christmas service on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. This service is always worthwhile attending. Visitors with Ruth Ashton on Wednesday were son Allan and Joyce of Oakwood and on Thursday Mabel Lehane of Columbus and Marilyn Searle of Kedron called. We're sorry to report that David Simmonds is back in hospital and we certainly wish him well soon. This coming Sunday, church service is at Epsom at 11 a.m. and will be cele- brating the Hanging of the Greens. Everyone is asked to bring a white or gold decoration to hang on the Christmas tree. Dec. 9 will be White Gift Sunday. We're still waiting to find out what families we will be helping. The Epsom School was packed on Monday evening when a meeting was held with the Durham School Board representa- tive.
