Once again, Judy Hilton and friends have strung more than 30,000 Christmas lights around the Hilton home on Scugog Line 3 and added to that about 2,000 orna- ments in their effort to bring holiday cheer to the township while helping out a good cause at the same time. For eight years now, the Hilton home and front property has been decked out in Christmas lights and ornaments, making it a popular destination for families to visit during evening hours. On top of that, a box is also left by the driveway for any donations to the local food bank, Operation Scugog. On average, about $1,500 is raised annually for the local Lions club. However, Ms. Hilton is hoping to hit the $2,000 mark this year. "We need to make a nice big donation to the Lions this year. They have lots of good projects on the go right now and we need to help them out" said Ms. Hilton, who turned on her light show Nov. 23. Each year the Port Perry Lions Club comes out to her home to help set up the display, and, in turn, the proceeds are passed along to the service club. "We've had a good reception so far, and I hope we keep getting good crowds. These guys do a lot of good things for the community," she said. The Hiltons obsession with Christmas decora- tions started almost 10 years ago, said Ms. Hilton.
