PORT PERRY "WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2000 - 15 CRIME STOPPERS Police seeking info on recent theft in Beaverton Crime Stoppers and Durham Regional Police need your assistance in solving a theft that occurred in Beaverton between Feb. 4 and 5 of this year. On Friday evening two visitors from the United States checked into a motel in the Beaverton area. The two had travelled from the State of Michigan to do some fishing in-the area. They brought along their skidoos in a trailer. Sometime during the overnight hours culprits attended the motel parking lot removing the trailer from the victims vehi- cle. The enclosed red aluminum trailer bearing Michigan licence plate number P40105 housed two snow machines as well as a quantity of expensive fishing equipment and winter clothing. The snow machines, one a two tone green and black, the other blue are described as both 1995 Polaris skidoos. The loss is estimated at approximately $25,000. Anyone possessing any informa- tion regarding this crime is asked to make the call to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for any information that will lead to an arrest in this incident.
