PORT PERRY "WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, APRIL 7, 2000 - 7 -- Suriderland aple Syrup Festival There was plenty going on the the village of Sunderland last weekend, when the annual Maple Syrup Festival took over the streets and sugar bushes. Here's a look at just a few of the activities, beginning at the top of the page and going clockwise: Scott Creed of Jungle Cat World, seen here with a huge hawk, put on a show with exotic animals that pleased the crowd. Below, the Psychedelic Durham Westers pound their way toward the finish line in the always-popular bed races. Below left, Lucia Conde was busy at her booth, which featured all kinds of maple syrup products. And at left, Terry Williamson is not the least bit put off at having a huge boa constrictor draped on her shoulders by the Jungle Cat World people. - rE H a 3
