We were not disappointed. Jack Kent came from his "Potting Shed" in Cayuga with lots of hostas and lots of information. There are 3,000 varieties of hosta - large, medium and tiny - with many foliage shades and combi- nations of greens, yellows and blues as well as blue or white flowers. Ross Snodden won the Grace Gridley trophy for the best rose in the show, and Marg Collingwood 'won the most points. Our Annual Show has come around once again and preparation is under way to bring Uxbridge the best from Uxbridge gar- dens. There are eight tro- phies to be won including best bloom, best veg- etable and best decora- tive (flower arrangement). The show can be viewed by the public between 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Seniors' Centre (please note this date was incorrectly put in the Community Calendar of the Times-Journal as Aug. 9). Tea, juice, and many varieties of cakes and squares will be served during this time. Plants will also be on sale at the door. The Community Calendar also incorrectly stated that the Four Seasons Garden Tour will be held on August 12, this is not the case it is sched- uled for Saturday, Sept. 9.
