Skaters rose to the occasion with exciting performances, including a spectacular exhibition by the 2001 Junior Canadian Pairs Champions Johanna Purdy and Kevin Maguire, which had the near sell-out crowds cheering. High praise goes to Vyvan Coxworth for her tremen- dous effort in producing the show. Even with the help of volunteers and other coaches, this is a huge undertaking which would send many others running in the opposite direction. For her patience, creative excellence and dedi- cation to the true spirit of skating, the club thanks her. Congratulations also goes out to the skaters who passed their tests on Monday, April 2. In Port Perry, Amy Davenport, Emily Coxworth and Alyssa McCarthy all passed both the elements and program required to com- plete their Junior Bronze Freeskate. In" Uxbridge, 'Gina 'Eun got her Ke#ts Foxtrot, while - Christa Lane successfully completed the Harris Tango and American Waltz, and Janessa Dee got her Quickstep. Jennifer Purdy had a great day passing her Killian and Paso Doble Dances, as well as her solo, giving her the Junior Silver Freeskate. These girls deserve to be specially recognized for their efforts because of the fact that these tests occurred right in the middle of the hectic carnival practice schedule.
