Ruth Smith, an amateur actress who most recently appeared in the Borelians' award-winning production of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons", will " Players' latest production. direct the For her efforts, the Borelians' play was given provincial recognition and Ms Smith was named Best Actress by the provincial theatre organization, 00 nA ~aa A, INIBISYAN AANA! ATCO. She will join the Uxbridge Players to direct their production of Ted Tiller's "Dracula", which is planned for production this fall. Laura Pennington, pres- ident of the Uxbridge Players, said Ms Smith's direction is anticipated with excitement. "We welcome this won- derful actor / director and we look forward to an amazing play that will find favour with the public throughout Durham Region," Ms Pennington said. "You have to see this production." Local talent is required and a chance to work with Ms Smith should make the turnouts for auditions good. Over the years this annual event has given many young and not-so- young musicians a chance to perform for family, friends and the local pub- lic before an enthusiastic audience. "There is an amazing number of very talented instrumentalists and singers in Lindsay and the surrounding area" said Val McElravy, President of the Foundation, "This year we are presenting new combi- nations of brass, flute, voice and piano, as well as piano solos and solo and duet vocal numbers.
