A very special happy birthday to my dad, Dick Wood, a former resi- dent of Lakeview Drive in Port Perry who celebrated his 80th birthday this past Saturday. Our family had an open house for dad which was incredibly well attended. Dad had a great time and everyone com- "mented that he looked 64, not 80. Congratulations and best wishes to Peter King and Christie Corden who were married this past Saturday in a beautiful outdoor setting by the river at the King home in Robinglade Estates. The reception followed at Sandford. They had a beautiful day for their wedding and Pete and his wedding party arrived by pontoon boat up the river and Christie and her bridal party arrived by road. Dottie and Vernie Throneberry from Norris, Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S.A. are visiting at the home of Alex and Sylvia Ingram of Mariposa Estates. The U.C.W. went to the Port Perry Nursing Home on Thursday afternoon for the June birthday party. Many thanks to Alex Ingram and his musical group who entertained the residents. Communion was cele- brated at the church ser- vice on Sunday morning. The choir sang the anthem ~ on Eagle's Wings. Rev. Carson's sermon was "God Points Us Past Our Troubles."
