DRPS would like to remind all residents to keep their garage doors closed and locked. The crimes of opportunity have seen suspects enter open or unlocked garages and then steal sports equip- ment, such as golf clubs and bicycles. These crimes can be avoided if the homeowner would close the doors to the garage when they are not in sight of the garage. An example of this is a homeowner working in the back garden who cannot see the front of the open garage. Closing that door can prevent needless loss of property.
