Cain of Bolton, England. The double- ring ceremony was conducted in the candiletit Chancel of the Church by the Rev. Bruce D. Roberts. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father wore a simple floor-length gown of white imported crepe trimmed from neck*to hem-line with matching braid. The braid was also along the edges of train which fell from the shoulder of the bride. Her head-piece was a waist length veil of white tulle gathered onto a half band that was trimmed with pearls. She carried a white Bible on which was a lovely display of orange giadioli. The bridesmaid, Miss Val- erie Taylor, of Birmingham, England, a friend of the bride, | wore a similar styled gown of orange crepe, with orange ro- ses in her hair, and carried a white Bible with white shasta | daisies. The best man for the occasion | was Mr. Walter Stevens, brot- jher of the groom, Mr. Ross Lane of Port Perry and Mr. Robert C. Atkinson of Clark- | son Ontario, friends of the groom were the ushers. The mother of the bride wore a flowered silk coat dress ensemble of hot pink, with brown and beige access- ories, and had a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses. The groom's mother wore a yellow chiffon dress with | a white flowered bodice, she had white accessories and a corsage of white sweetheart roses. | Guests attended from Port Perry, Prince Albert, Man- Chester, Myrtle, Oshawa, Toronto, Clarkson, | Bolton England, Birmingham | and Southern England. After the reception and dance, which was held at the Francis Room in Toronto, the bride wore a "hot pant" suit of green and yellow with | yellow accessories. The groom | had a green striped suit in| which to travel to Gananoque | and Ottawa where the couple spent their honymoon. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Stevens will be making their home in Tor- onto, Agincourt, | - KYLES The sun shone brightly over St. John's Presbyterian Church, on duly Grd, 1971 when Marlene Michelle Podres only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 4. Podres became the bride of Mr. Wayne Ewing Kyle youngest son of Mr. Fred Kyle. The marriage was sol- eminzed in a 4 p.m. doubie ring service, Reverend Wm. Black offciating. The church was beautifully decorated with yellow mums and white dai- sies and the pews were adour- ned with white satin bows and lily of the valley. The setting was enhanced by the talented Mrs. V. Stou- at beautifully rendered the "Wed- ding Prayer" prior to the ceremony and the "Wedding Song" and "More" during the signing of the register. The bride given in marriage by her father looked absolu- tely madiant in her floor length gown of white ligoda crepe accented by venetian lace which fell from the shoulders to form a full length train. Her shoulder length veil washeld with a crown of seed pearls and shimmering crystals. She car- ried a bouquet of yellow roses and. white orchids. Hidden amok her flowers was hun- dred year old prayer book. Miss Julie Hall was maid of honour. The bridesmaids were Misses Brenda Sweetman, Sandra Enge, Sonja Enge and Marianne Smits. They were gowned alike in floor length gowns of lilac crystallette with soft lilac lace over-bodices and sleeves. They carried bou- quets of white daisies and baby tears. They also wore white daisies in their hair. SPECIAL PODRES The groom and his atten- dants wore white and black formal attire, Best man for the occasion was Mr. Fred Kyle, dr. brother of the groom. The ushers were Messrs. Mike Benns, Ken Geer, Ron Podres, and David Podres. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Club Anrenne. The brides mother receiving wore a pale blue formal pant dress with silver aceessories and a corsage of white mums. The grooms Aunt, Mrs. Carl Lyons assist- ed, wearing a green coat and dress ensemble, with white | accessories and corsage of white mums. The master of ceremonies was Mr. Henry Smiths, long- time friend of the bride and her family. Mr. Malcom Pallant pro- vided background music for the wedding dinner and also for the waltz, which allowed Arlene and Wayne to mingle with their guests before departing on their honeymoon trip to Northern Ontario and parts of the United States. Upon their departure, the bride wore a white hot pants set with matching accessories. Her corsage was a pink orchid. Prior to her wedding, Mar- lene was feted to a number of showers. Misc. showers were given by Mrs. Marie Smits and daughter Marianne, Mrs. Joyce Taylor, Miss Brenda Sweetman and Miss Julie Hall. A personal shower was given by Mrs. Ora Reader and daughter Sharalyn. Marlene expressed her grat- itude on all these occasions. Mr. and Mrs. Kyle are, present- ly residing in Port Perry.
