Fulford PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1971'-- BY - LAW No. 1630 A By-Law to establish times, periods and frequencies at and for which the sewage rates imposed by By-Law No. 1483 as amended, and By-Law No. 1484 of the Corporation of the Village of Port Perry shall be charged. : WHEREAS Section 380 (18) of the Municipal Act Chapter 249 R.S.O. 1960 and its amendments authorize a municipality to pass By-Laws to establish systems for billing sewage rates. THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Port Perry enacts as follows: 1, That the sewage rates authorized by By-Law No. 1483 as amended and By-Law No. 1484 shall be billed by special sewage notice for the year 1971. This special sewage notice shall cover the period of January Ist, 1971 to December 31st, 1971 and shall be due and payable on or before November 15, 1971. 2. Subsequent sewage frontage and connection rates shall be collected annually as special charges on the re- gular tax notice, 3. Assessment Roll frontage shall be used in determining frontage sewage charges, notwithstanding that cer- tain exceptions shall be allowed as provided by By- Law No. 1482 and By-Law No. 1483 as amended. 4. No discounts shall apply to sewage frontage and con- nection rates in 1971. In subsequent years regular tax discounts shall apply. 6. Penalty shall be charged on current unpaid sewage rates at the same rate as current taxes. The Clerk is hereby authorized to give three days of grace be- fore charging penalty in the current year. 7. Unpaid sewage rates as of December 31st of any year shall be charged interest at the same rate, and shall be collected in the same manner as tax arrears. Un- paid sewage rates shall be a lien upon the property in like manner as tax arrears. 8. Payment of $430 a foot frontage by December 3ist, 1971, will terminate obligation of a property in re- gard to frontage rates imposed by By-Law No. 1483 as amended. Sewage frontage rates may @lso be commuted in subsequent years with the required payment being calculated each year by the O.W.R.C. No refund of previous payments shall be made. 9. Payment of $200.00 for each connection by December Bist, 1971 will terminate obligation of a property in regard to sewage service connection rates imposed by By-Law No, 1484. Sewage service connection rates may also be commuted in subsequent years with the required payment being calculatéd each vear bv the O.W.R.C. No refund of previous payments shall be made.
