' Misses Verona Niesen and Lenbre Freund now comprise an orchestra which is furnishing music at the picture shows at the Empire theatre one or two nights each week. The former presides at the piano and the latter plays a violin.. Their efforts on the nights they ha-e appeared at Mc- Henry's pretty playhouse have been received with delight from the audiences in attendance. I Fred Weinschenker opened his motor express service between this village and Chicago last week, one week earlier than he had anticipated. The poor service given by the freight 'and express companies caused by the 'strike, no doubt, induced him to start the service last week. Thus far his deliveries have been very satisfactory and that his efforts are appreciated is signified by the encouragement that is : being given him. i George Phalin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Phalin, who reside on the Terra Cotta road south of this village, is now employed in the mechanical de 'partment of the Overton garage on the West Side.
