OF Mi Pto MwmmY SUNDAY AFTERNOON Jjx-ats Present Crippled Line-up, Bit In Spite of Hub Awful Scare Give Wilmet an r#,; -S$, * In spite of the fact that McHenry's ^Itching ace as, well as the regular first sacker were among those not present, the local club gave the Wilt ot lads a real argument on the Mcenry field last Sunday afternoon. * Altho the game went to the visitors by a score of 10 to 7, the McHenry outfit, especially after the fourth Waning, took such a liking to the much looted Edgar's offerings that It looked • att if the big fellow was in for a ,, fjteaning. Judging from the manner in which the McHenry sluggers were landing on him, it was a mighty hlcky thing for Wilmot that the locals did not get started an inning . #|oner. » While all of the credit of victory - ifehtfully belongs to the . winners, -.things surely would have been differ- :«vt with McHenry's full strength in ""tfce field. Owing to the absence of "•Sal" Meyers, it waa necessary for the Manager of the local outfit to bring in Buss, McHenry's slugging right •fifelder, to cover the initial sack. Considering the fact that Buss is a naj^ aral outfielder and therefore has had isery little experience on the infield, jits work ftt first was very good in Spite of two errors chalked up against ^m . - T-h e •c hange in the infield, together ' -With a new man on the firing line, appeared to have upset the local's entire 'toner garden. 1Tms the thirteen hits •f• tip gleaned from Johnson's delivery, Intermingled with nine errors, made -^jhe going rather easy for the visitors. ? Johnson, who was assigned the f~Jjitching duties in place of the abppntee, Jess Davidson, didn't appear .;^X> have very much in stock with which fool the opposing batsmen, but in Ipite of this fact, he might-have won s game at that had he been given t a trifle better support. Mericle and ' Boyle did most of the itting for the visitors, while Buss rried home the batting honors for |he home club. ¥ The story of the game by innings: First Timing: Mericle laced a pretfy hit over short and was sacrificed jfA it second by Hegeman, who rolled to Johnson and was thrown out at first.
