Huemann, who recently took over the agency for the Overland pleasure cars, recently sold a beautiful sedan to Jos. J. Frett of McHenry. The Overland company is this year turning out an exceptionally fine car and, according to owners of this make of machine, they are giving very good satisfaction. This is the third Overland that Mr. Frett has owrfed and he hasn't a kick to register. The McHenry Township Mutual Fire Insurance company will hold its annual meeting at the Forester hall here on next Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 2, at one o'clock. The secretary will have a very fine report to make, so it is said, and the meeting is also sure to bring out the fact that the company is closing its most successful year since its organization. All members should be present at the meeting. It is to their interest to learn just what has been done by the officers during the year now closing. The shoot, as held at Mertes' Oak Park hotel grounds at Pistakee Bay last Sunday and given under the auspices of the Johnsburg Gun club, proved a big success and brought out many lovers of the sport. Johnsburg was ' very well represented as was Ringwood and McHenry, while a number of Lake county shooters were also on hand to try their marksmenship against the crack shots of these parts. Oldest Resident of County Woodstock Sentinel: Christmas day has come and gone and with its passing Mrs. Mary Vermett, now of Coral township, adds one more birthday to her already advanced age. Two years ago the Woodstock Sentinel, then a weekly publication, gavt a somewhat extended story of the life of this elderly woman. She was then at the age of 108, believed to be the oldest person in McHenry county if not in northern Illinois. This Christmas completed her 111th milestone. She still makes her home in the home of her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Vermett at the farm home at Union. Grandma is considerably more feeble than she was two years ago. She is no longer up with the family in the morning, but rather enjoys her bed until later* in the day. Grandma is the head of five generations, her granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Sheply, being a grandmother. Word has just been received hers that the hope chest disposed of at the church fair at Hartford, S. Charles Tonies, an elderly Grayslake man, was adjudged insane in the Lake county court at Waukegan last Saturday and taken to the state hospital at Elgin. Jacob Story's eighty-third birthday occurred on Saturday -last, Christmas day. He has been a resident of this town over fifty years. Workmen on the st&ndpipe for the waterworks have completed that mammoth structure.
