The appointments which failed to suit the majority of the aldermen were for chief of police, Owen H. Co it; city attorney, David R. Joslyn, Jr., and superintendent of streets and water, Howard Rawson. It co^ Charles Knowe of Palatine exactl^^33.50 to show the Barrington people his new Marmot* roadster and the speed it could make one day last week. With the cut-out wide open, the young speed king went tearing thru the village of Barrington at a rate estimated at about a mile a minute.
