CITY LOSING LANTERNS ?? "" So many lanterns have been lost bjT the city during the past few weeks that Officer Walsh has grown weary of replacing them on the trafic post at the intersection of Green and streets. Since putting in the sewerage the old traffic post has been removed and was later on replaced by a temporary poet, not electrically lighted. While the temporary post and it* lantern is anything but an ornament, ft. will serve its purpose and has probably already been the means of avoiding more than one accident and hevr some people can become so thoughtless as to destroy these safety signals is beyond our comprehension. We all realize that a lantern as a guide signals is a bit old fashioned, but if the general public will only have a bit of patience McHenry wtf' soon be beautified by the addition of real electrically lighted traffic signaji. , _ . . . . .
