The next meeting of the dob wUI take place fn two weeks. Watch this paper for announcement, giving the date and place. Every one present at the last meeting vohmteereato bring livered by J. F. Bryan of Chicago, secretary of the Illinois Lumber Merchants' association. Mr. Bryan is not a stranger in this city as he has appeared before the members of the community club on a previous occasion, but his message last Thursday night was one of the best of the kind ever heard in McHenry. That Mr. Bryan is thoroly "sold" on community building was evidenced all thru his excellent address and the only regret was that there weren't more out to hear him. A few of the points as forcefully brought to attention of his attentive listeners might be summed up in the following manner: McHenry, with her natural surroundings, offers an.excellent selling advantage. Unless one is thoroly sold on his own city and community he will not and cannot sell his community to the outside world. If you are not a booster for McHenry and do not believe in her, the best thing for you to do is to move. Don't get the idea that you are solely responsible for your own success; always remember that it was your fellow citizen who made success possible. Return to society at least a portion of what society gave you. Pull together, sell McHenry, not one section of it, but all of it. Let the outside world know of your natural advantages. Show the visitors every act of courtesy at your command. Make them feel at home while your guests. In your individual line of business be sure that you handle the best, give real service. Keep your places of business attractive. Keep your show windows clean and change the displays often. The speaker praised the city and community in general for the progres- *ivenesa that is being displayed thru the improvements which are now being put in and others that have been instituted here during the past few years. Before closing he also gave a fe% minutes to the churches, during which he urged everyone to become a church member. Everyone should be a church supporter, he declared. Mr. Bryan was roundly applaudfed at tite close of his fine address and later on was given a rising vote of 1 NOTICE TO W|fSft CONSUME** Notice is hereby given to city water dWMMMarft that water meters In the ICcHenry will hereafter be read .lly. *fhe next reading will Jkite the latter part of August, will also be mailed semiannually.
