Chevrolet Again Breaks Its Production Record SPECIAL ASSESSMENT NOTICE In the matter of the Petition of the City of McHenry, Illinois, to levy a Special Assessment for improving Washington street in said City, by Grading, Curbing, Draining, Paving. Etc., and known ii Paving District No. 9. Notice is hereby given to all persons interested that the City Council of the City of McHenry, McHenry county, Illinois, having ordered that a local improvement be made for the improvement of Washington Street from the westerly street line of Riverside Drive to the easterly street line of Green Street extended, and those portions of Park Avenue and Court street lying within the street lines of the said portion of Washington Street and not included in the roadway thereof, by draining, grading, curbing and paving the road thereof with either a Portland cement concrete pavement designated at Type "A", or a Portland cement concrete pavement designated as Type "B," all in the said City of McHenry as provided for in and by an ordinance passed by the City Council of the said City on May 3, A. D. 1926, and approved by its Mayor on May 3, A. D. 1926, entitled, "An Ordinance for paving a portion of Washington Street in the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois," the ordinance for the same being now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of McHenry, and having applied to the County Court of McHenry County for an assessment of the cost of said improvement according to the benefits and assessments therefor having been made and returned to said court, which assessment is divided into ten (10) annual installments bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6) per ^nnum; the final hearing thereon will be held on the 31st day of May, A. D. 1926, at the hour of 10 o'clock, A. M., or as soon thereafter as the business of the court will permit. All persons desiring may file objections in said court before said day and may appear at the hearing rind make their defense. Dated at McHenry, Illinois, this 13th day of May* A. LEATH * COMPANY With retail sales far in excess of factory production and thousands of unfilled orders reported on hand by dealers, the Chevrolet Motor Company manufactured 233,683 cars during the first four months of this year, the highest number of three-speed transmission type cars ever turned out by any manufacturer in a similiar period. The month of April set a new high production mark in the history of the company, when 71,157 cars were made in twenty-four working hours, an average daily production of 2,964 units. Of the 71,157 cars made the last month, 62,651 were for domestic consumption. Retail domestic sales for the month totaled 68,278 cars, showing sales were 5,626 ahead of United States factory production for the month. Production was pushed fat1 beyond the normal output to take care of dealer's expanding demands. A new high record for sales in a single week was set in the week ending May 1, when 17,628 cars were sold at retail.
