DOINGS OF INTEREST TO EASTERN STAR MEMBERS The first official visit of the newly elected Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rose Holt, was held at Antioch on Thursday evening, October 20. Those who attended this meeting from McHenry were: Worthy Mhtron, Mrs. Ony Wheeler, Mrs. Martha Page, Mrs. George Lindsay and Mrs. William Bacon. Rose Holt and Associate Worthy Grand Patron Ewing were elected to the Grand East at the recent grand chapter meeting at Medinah temple, Chicago. At this time Alice Williams was elected associate grand conductress and Herbert Gielow was elected to the office of associate grand patron for the coming year. Sarah Daniels is now the associate grand m&tron and Neva BCoore the grand conductress. c. On Triday evening, October 21, advanced officer's, night was observed at Woodstock chapter and at this meeting the associate matron of McHenry chapter, Mrs. Belle Hankermeyer, filled the station of Esther. Members of McHenry chapter who attended this meeting were: Mrs. J. E. Wheeler, Mrs James Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stephenson, Bliss Arleen Harrison and Mrs. R. A. Thompson. On Wednesday evening, October 26, Sorosis chapter at Grayslake observed their Worthy Patrons' night and Clayton Harrison, worthy patron of McHenry chapter,' filled the office of Marshal for the evening. On Thursday evening, October 27, Libertyville chapter will hold their Worthy Matrons' night and Mrs. Ony Wheeler, worthy matron of McHenry chapter, will act as associate matron for the evening. On Friday evening, October 28, Day Star chapter, Dundee, will observe their Advanced Officers' night and the associate matron of McHenry chapter, Mrs. Belle Hankermeyer, will fill the station of Ruth for the evening. On Saturday evening, October 29, McHenry chapter will hold a Hallowe'en party in their hall. Games and dancing will comprise the entertainment for the evening and everyone is invited to come and have a gQod time.
